Hosting An SMS Tipline

An SMS tipline receives tips sent to the tipline's SMS number. Use the following instructions to complete the process of Configuring Tipline Properties.
If modifying an existing tipline, click the edit link associated with the desired tipline as shown on the "Manage Tiplines" Page. It will bring up an "Edit Tipline" form similar to the one shown below. If you are in the process of creating a new tipline, you may already see a form called "New Tipline" which is similar and will serve the same purpose.
The name you provide will distinguish this tipline from others listed on the "Manage Tiplines" page for your organization.
With an SMS tipline, you should never edit this Identifier field yourself. It is inserted automatically when the tipline is created with the New SMS Tipline instructions. There is no other supported way to create an SMS tipline.
The identifier that automatically appears here is a phone number using E.123 dialing notation with spaces and dashes removed. For example, the following specifies a phone number with New York area code 212 +12127654321

This message will be sent as a reply to the user to acknowledge that their submitted tip has been received.

With an SMS tipline, you should never change this tipline type field yourself. It is inserted automatically when the tipline is created with the New SMS Tipline instructions. There is no other supported way to create an SMS tipline.
Check this box if you want the tipline included in the Sharing A Tipline Via QR Code for your organization.
Check this box to enable the tipline or uncheck to temporarily deactivate it.
Check this box to hold tips for approval when the source of the tip is not identified as a member of your organization.
Check this box to hold all tips for approval.
Check this box to allow tips on this SMS tipline to be submitted in multiple parts and automatically merged together. Leave it unchecked to prevent separate SMS submissions from being merged together into a single tip.
